All that Jazz

So in the quest to follow my dreams I have started taking voice lessons. They are wonderful and frusterating all at the same time and just when I was about to give up something wonderful happened. I'm working on "Song for you" and out came a Jazz vocal move that is apparently not that easy. My teachers jaw dropped and I got a, "Damn Girl! That was impressive!" Suddenly not only was my faith in myself was restored but I became very interested in Jazz. I've never listened to it much before and I wanted to know if I could sing more of it. So off to Barnes and Noble I went where I picked up a Jazz Divas CD with a ton of older Jazz songs, an Ella Fitzgerald CD and a Jane Monheit CD. I have to say I love them all. I'm a major fan of 40's music, I had no idea what I've been in love with for ages was considered Jazz. Jane Monheit is fantastic as well so I guess I'd have to say that I'm officially a fan of jazz.

One of my favorite songs is an old song made new again. In the first video it's being done by Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire and in the second is done by Jane Monheit and Michael Buble. Enjoy!
