Three Dollar Travelers

Toddlers say the cutest and most confusing things sometimes. There have been a number of times when M emphatically says something that makes absolutely no sense to me. I hate to have to tell him that I don't understand what he is saying, so sometimes I try and pretend that I understand, even though I don't. It never works. Unless you repeat what he is saying back to him he will keep saying it, over and over, louder and louder. Eventually I get what he is saying and we move on.

I have never, however, been more stumped by any of his sayings than I am this one, "Tree dollar traberlers." The best my hubby and I have been able to guess is, "Three dollar travelers." This can not possibly be what he is saying because it makes no sense whatsoever. However, it's working for now. M yells, "TREE DOLLAR TRABELERS!!" Hubby or I yell, "Yay!! THREE DOLLAR TRAVELERS!!!" M laughs and goes about his business.

I am sure hubby and I have it wrong. I'm almost certain that the only reason we are able to get away with this nonsensical translation is that we look like absolute idiots when this exchange occurs. It must be entertaining enough for M that he sees no need to correct us.

So it continues...It's been going on for several months now. "TREE DOLLAR TRABELERS!!!"
